New scene and new character! :D We meet the "dumb daughter" Bo mentioned a short while back. Swift is a bi-colored sky wing (kind of rare for the species) and even has different colored eyes to match! She has cross eyes and can't move them so she has to move her head to look around. Doesn't stop her from being her crazy self!

Look at this precious bean! She's so cute! I also love how natural their conversation is. I can easily imagine a curious little kid asking those types of questions. Speaking of which, how does a dragon pee itself? They don't have pants to wet.

So Rare erased Bo's memory of him or something? Interesting. Welp now there is no witness to the impending doom except Fury. Wonder what he will do about this.

XD What Swift is saying about "peeing yourself" is getting scared and basically piddling (like a puppy). That would be embarrassing!
dragonriderabens 13th Feb 2017, 6:03 PM
I think Bo was lying about forgeting
dragonriderabens 13th Feb 2017, 6:07 PM
took another closer look, maybe Bo's memory WAS erased...
Guest 13th Feb 2017, 12:00 AM
Is she older even though bo is laying down she seems more built or is it because bo isn't a pure sky wing they seem to be a bit more built then a fire wing good page by the way the way you draw stuff is amazing
CrystalCircle 13th Feb 2017, 12:24 AM
CrystalCircle
They are pretty much the same age. Swift is only a week older than Bo. Young sky wings are more stocky than young fire wings so yeah it's purely because Bo is not full sky wing! Good observation! :D

Bo stands slightly taller than her and is a little longer. Fire wings are more lanky and he has a lot of fire wing anatomy in him!
Savern 13th Feb 2017, 12:11 PM
Ah, blast, I missed the streams for this... But ooh, I like this page!

It seems Rare erased Bo's memory... But I can't seem to shake the feeling that it was actually Fury that did it for some reason... To keep Rare's existence hidden or something along those lines...
sigpig 13th Feb 2017, 12:24 PM

I agree with Savern, I think Fury erased Bo's memories...
dragonriderabens 13th Feb 2017, 6:04 PM
LOL Swift is just as nuts as I am!! I LOVE IT!!! you got me down to a tee. there a chance we met IRL (jk ;p)
Kuri 14th Feb 2017, 7:10 PM
So can I ask, what makes Bo a clear hybrid? What traits does he have that are only found on one type of dragon from another? To me outside coloring they all look pretty much the same.
CrystalCircle 14th Feb 2017, 8:52 PM
CrystalCircle
Bo has his father's coloration, antlers, semi-retractable claws, blunt snout, and ear fringes. He also has the ability to control the wind like a sky wing. Parts of his build are sky wing as well. He has a longer neck than a fire wing would and his body has more muscle (fire wings are more lean).

He has his mother's stripes, crest, and bi-colored eyes (even though they are blue like a sky wing's eyes). He also has her wings, raised nostrils, sharp brow, tail tip, and the ability to breathe fire.

His different features will become more noticeable as he ages. Baby dragons all look a little similar because their adult features have yet to grow in.
Kimi 19th Feb 2017, 9:12 AM
Did Bo's tail spike at the end of his tail always have that white design similar to Fury's?
CrystalCircle 21st Feb 2017, 12:17 AM
CrystalCircle
All royals have those little glowing markings on their tails :) It was hard to see on some of the past pages, but yeah, Bo's tail always had that.
Fizz 20th Feb 2017, 7:32 PM
I see a few commenters suggesting Rare blanked Bo's memory. It could equally well have been Fury. Perhaps Fury didn't want the lad to grow up traumatised?

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Swift!
Kim 21st Feb 2017, 4:30 PM
So why arn't their wings bound? There being held in the same place as the other's right? I doubt theyd have time to sneek off to do some love making and having babys with out their captors knowing.
CrystalCircle 21st Feb 2017, 10:27 PM
CrystalCircle
The sky wings are only bound when they are able to fly. Swift and Bo are too young to fly yet (their wings are not fully grown). The fire wings do know about any babies born in the hold because they inspect it regularly, but Bo's existence is still a secret to them (more will be explained later on).
Erren 26th Mar 2017, 5:36 PM
I would think they would bound the wings, or even clip them at a young age so they never get the muscle mass to be able to fly in the first place.
Fizz 5th Mar 2017, 10:43 AM
I just realised the crystals behind Bo and Swift are glowing. I guess they are the light source in this cave. I wonder how they work?

Looks like another dead comic. Last update was the 12th of feb. If there taking a break or something I wish they'ed just spit it out rather than just abandoning their project. I read through this whole thing and got into it but looking at the last update.. bah.
Altariasong 10th Apr 2017, 10:17 AM
I have seen comics dead for years come back in full force. Sure, communication would be helpful, but she IS communicating in other places. You should stop and think about the impact your words have on the author before you go spouting your mouth like that. It's obvious she works hard on this. I for one am keeping this comic in the haitus section and I'll check back every week to see when it can be moved back to the active updates section. I advise all of you other readers to do the same. Don't give up so easily!
dragonriderabens 9th Apr 2017, 8:37 PM
OI! all of you impatient #?*! complaining about a lack of a new page, she has a life outside of the internet, and she lets people know about it when she can. just go here
http://crystalcircle.deviantart.com/
and it will tell you every thing you need to know about where the next page is
Guest 12th Apr 2017, 5:44 PM
She could post that info you know, HERE and not need to make people hunt for that info. Can't be bothered to copy and paste text? No we have to hunt out info on another site that we also have to search for the link to and hope something is posted there.

Or we can sit here and look at the news that don't change and go wtf.

Really they have 'author notes'. They can't be bothered to update that with the info on what there doing? Why should we have to sit here and wonder where they went, and have to hunt down another site there on for said info?
Dragonsoul 12th Apr 2017, 5:48 PM
So we have to go to the Links link on the page.. her two tumblrs show no info on what is going on, and her DA just shows she went to a con. Three months for a con? I don't see anything anywhere relaying to what 3+ month delay has been about. So even going to the sites is useless. There's no info.
Guest 13th Apr 2017, 6:14 PM
Went to http://crystalcircle.deviantart.com/ as said.
Saw info on going to Wizard World Con Mar 19th, and then a concert and planing a live stream.

How does that in any way cover why there has been no update in over three months?

Is this comic abandoned or not? From the looks of it there doing other thing's and not touching the comic anymore.
dragonriderabens 13th Apr 2017, 7:45 PM
for all those who bothered to check out the link I posted, but could not find anything, checked it out myself, and found a lack of status updates, which is where your answers lie, so I will just spell it out for you...
she has been busy helping out with a robotic competition in various ways, to the point where she has not even had time to SLEEP, let alone work on the comic...
need I say more? LIFE HAPPENED. BE PATIENT!
she will get to it when she has time I am sure. but real life takes priority...
dragonriderabens 13th Apr 2017, 7:48 PM
here is a link to where it will tell you everything you need to know about where she has been http://crystalcircle.deviantart.com/journal/
Guest 13th Apr 2017, 10:57 PM
"the next page will be here next weekend (April 8th)"

8th of next year maybe?
Guest 13th Apr 2017, 11:04 PM
So why can't she make a very fast 5 sec update HERE where it's easier to find on what is going on with jer IRL? Like ya know, most other comics do? Instead of having us hunt through links and posts in hopes of finding the answer? If she can post updates on her DA then she can copy and paste that text and update it here, where readers are here for the comic, not to hunt through her DA page.

She'll keep more readers if she has the info here, not in some other area that isn't even clear on the front page. Most comic readers will come for just the comic, if no update, they leave and not likely to return. If theres news on what's going on.. They will check back..

Is it that hard?
http://www.xpboostcomic.com/
They posted that they have paintful dentil issues that is being treated. Nice and clear info.

http://www.daughterofthelilies.com/
They clearly list there in break while they work on the next chapter.

http://www.forgottenordercomic.com/
They moved to a new place and are settleing in and until then there posting redux pages.

All info right there, clear as day for anyone to come in and find...

So why do we have to sit and hunt for that info here? Even I thought the comic was abandoned after seeing no updates for this long and nothing clearly saying what is going on.

Altariasong 14th Apr 2017, 2:46 AM
While I find your approach to be a tad abrasive, you do have a point. It is best to update the readers where they come to read the comic. But it's easy to stand on the sidelines and judge. I'd imagine that things might be going on that she doesn't want to talk about, personal stuff that's her business. And as for your tone, I'm not you so I don't make your decisions. But sometimes it's easier for everyone if you approach situations with respect and understanding. Rather than saying "this author doesn't care and the comic is dead" maybe say "hey author! I know you're new to this so I have a suggestion. Make sure to post updates on the status of a comic!". Having been through a lot myself with cutting words, I find it better to use constructive criticism. Also I love DoTL, glad to see a fellow reader.
Guest 14th Apr 2017, 8:40 AM
I have around 60 some webcomics bookmarked, and all of them sooner or later at least post something on why there is a delay in an update. Rather their PC died or RL issues.

Though the deal is. Yea RL happens, yes there may be thing's going in IRL that they don't want to share. But they should at least say SOMETHING HERE, not on another site that you have to sit and dig for the info. Who here even knew they had to go to their DA, then from there go look through old journal posts to find what's going on?

I'm here to read a comic. I see no updates and no new posts for a long while I figure the comic is dead and move on. I'm not here to hunt through links, more so links that at first glance don't show anything on what is going on just to find info that for all I know may not even exist.

It's like when Zombie Hunters stopped updating
http://www.thezombiehunters.com
They lost pretty much all their readers, and only after a year did they at last post an update on their status. Granted I can respect the hardship there going through. But beside that, this does show what happens when you don't post anything, or only post updates elsewhere that isn't easy to find. ie they posted in a facebook that was rarely updated to start with and the link to it wasn't really that noticeable. Even after it was posted people on the forums still had no idea what was going on and assumed the comic dead all due to that info not being easily found.

Or shoot
http://helvetica.jnwiedle.com/
I enjoyed that comic then out of the blue it just stopped updating. It was ages before they posted a 'we are not dead!" update on what was going on... cue a year later and still nothing on the 'bulk updates' they said they were going to put out... though they did at least go over what was stopping the updates before hand and give a CLEAR direction and link to where we can see further updates (their twitter), though even that appears to have stopped, at least with anything comic related.

Also I wouldn't call this comic new.. from the archive it's been going on sense 2014. Three years and the author don't yet know they need to post some sort of news to keep their readers?
dragonriderabens 14th Apr 2017, 8:09 PM
DoTL? not sure what that is, but regardless of whether you were talking to me or not, I am interested in finding out more about it, starting with what does it stand for...would you be willing to share?
Guest 15th Apr 2017, 3:12 AM
DoTL: http://www.daughterofthelilies.com

But as to where on this site she can post news.. There is a Authors Notes right below the page. She could use that area for news and status updates, ya know like 90% of all webcomics do?
Altariasong 15th Apr 2017, 11:17 AM
I was talking to the anonymous guest. But DotL stands for Daughter of the Lilies. It's a very good webcomic. I very much enjoy seeing people who overlap with the same comics as me. I have around 60 webcomics that I follow as well, so it's not all that surprising when I see overlap, but it still makes me happy.
dragonriderabens 14th Apr 2017, 8:01 PM
look, this website is but one page ahead of DA. DA is the MAIN SITE for all of the art she does. this is just for those who want to read a page ahead. plus. do you have a recommendation for WHERE on this site she can post the update?! because other than the comments section of the page, I do not. and I think it would be rather silly to be posting a status update in the comments of her own comic site
Guest 15th Apr 2017, 6:17 PM
How about right below where the 'author notes' are? Also who cares if DA is the main site. THIS is the site for the comic, THIS is the site the topwebcomics link goes to. THIS is the site that other comics link to. That is also how I FOUND this comic.

I never checked to see if there was a DA page, I didn't care, this is where the links took me, this site is just for the comic.

I don't like comics on DA, you have to go through so many links depending on how they have their da set up and it may be jumbled up with other art, and if they don't put links in their pages that take you to the next or forget to you have to go hunting again.

Really stop telling us to go to DA for info, that site is a mess, it's laggy and I have to keep my ad blocker on full force there. Fact is just going to their DA page you STILL don't see any info and have to hunt through links to find it is also bad by design. Make the info clear and easy to find, not a damn hunt for something that may not be there.

I looked at her tuimblrs, I looked at her DA before hand. I found nothing off the bat so as far as I knew there was no info. That just reads 'COMIC DEAD' to me.

Every other single comic I read has all the info right below the page, nice clear easy to find. It's not several links deep into another site.
Wardragon9 6th Apr 2017, 6:43 AM
When is next page? Pls tell why it's taking so long.
Alleza 6th Apr 2017, 7:07 AM
Looks like the author gave up. Sad really as this was the first comic on dragon's I found that I could get into, and the story was just getting good to.

But it's just another good comic that died too soon. RIP.
Ethan_3369 8th Apr 2017, 10:07 PM
I still have hope that it will come back it is that time again that school gets hard.
Guest 9th Apr 2017, 5:32 AM
A good author would post something on taking a break and give an idea when they come back. I would be more keen to stay and wait if they said something. But if they ignore the readers and just stop with out saying a word that is just pissing on the readers. I've gotten into far to many comics that just drop off the face of the earth.
Altariasong 14th Apr 2017, 2:51 AM
For those of you concerned about the lack of comic, please remember that there is a human being on the recieving end of your words. Criticism is always needed for artists, and we readers sometimes love to dish it out. But constructive criticism builds on the author's skills while destructive criticism can leave wounds that could do more damage than you'll ever know.
TL:DR
The golden rule still applies, be kind.
Ethan_3369 14th Apr 2017, 12:34 PM
CrystalCircle don't be discouraged by some of the people's anger. I think that it means you have a really great story and people are afraid of losing it to the Sands of time.
Fizz 16th Apr 2017, 5:18 PM
To CrystalC: Congratulations on the successes of your robotics team! It's a bit of a pain you have a lot more work to do, but at least it has a happy cause. Though some people above are upset at the lack of updates, I hope you are happy that so many people care about this comic. (The point about "please post a status update" has been run into the ground by now, but I hope you remember it for the future. Communication with your readership is important for a web comic to be successful.)

Thank you to dragonriderabens (above) for linking to CC's Deviantart (http://crystalcircle.deviantart.com/ for anyone who didn't see it). It was good to see the Sister Sister Q&As, the Wind and Fire mini-comic, and an earlier version of Sister Sister. Finding all that material I hadn't seen was, for me, a very good substitute for an update to the main comic.

To everyone else: You were all concerned about CC and the future of this comic. CC's Deviantart (click "Journal") should answer your concerns. (Short version: real life got in the way; Sister Sister will continue.) There is no need for further queries for a status update, as you now know what's going on.

To one particular Guest commenter: Please try to be nice. Though you make a good point about status updates, there's no need for your tone. I don't know why CC hasn't posted here, but I'm pretty sure there is no ill-intent behind her silence, so no reason to be so confrontational about it. A friendly note along the lines of "Could you please post a note to say what's happening with this comic? Thanks." would be sufficient. (Also, CC probably isn't reading the comments here right now, so you'd probably need to post it somewhere where she's a bit more active.)

Also (still @Guest), comments like yours can cause the opposite effect from what you want: On one comic I read, the artist backed away from updating due to the toxic nature of the comments. I don't want that to happen here.
SwiftWing 17th Apr 2017, 3:06 PM
While you make a point, I also have to agree with what is being said. All web comics I watch post any news and information on what is going on, on the site that the comic is being posted as this is where we come to read the comic. That or they will post up a notice page informing readers of thing's going on, rather personal, or just thing's in general that will delay a page. Comic’s like All Roses have Thorns (allroses.comicgenesis.com) posted a notice that they’ll be away until may 12th. That is a good thing to know and very nice of them to inform us so we don’t sit there wondering where the updates are and can check back around then.

But to not have such information listed on this site is bad for both returning and new readers. I'm a new reader to this comic and looking at the last update being so long ago I thought the comic to be abandoned and I nearly moved on without bothering to read the comic as I don’t want to get into one that the author isn't updating anymore.

It was these comments below that spilled what was going on, one should not have to rely on user comments to find out what is going on. No one wants to search for information that may not be out there and at first look at all the authors sites that users kept linking to, there isn't any info clearly seen. You instead have to dig into older posts and know how to navigate DA, a site I tend to avoid due to the amount of AD's it spams me with.

While some of the tone here may come off as harsh, I can understand why some may be irritated with how the author has handled giving out information. It’s not visible on the page the comic is hosted on, you have to dig for it on another site and know how to navigate said site, and you have to know it is even there to begin with to search for it.
